The vet and nurse team at Wallington
We're a team of highly experienced practitioners; vets, nurses and support staff, happy experts in our respective fields. We work hard to stay up to date, constantly investing in specialist training for our veterinary team. We love looking after pets as if they were our own.
Corina Versteegh - BVET MED MRCVS
I’m Corina, one of the full time veterinary surgeons at Avenue Road Vets.
I completed my veterinary degree from University College Dublin after gaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada. I’ve been working full time at Avenue Road Vets since July 2015; I love the combination of providing gold standard treatment to our clients, while maintaining the feeling of a small local family practice. I have a special interest in soft tissue surgery and hope to complete further certification in this area.
In my free time I enjoy running, dancing and travelling. I look forward to meeting more of our clients – both furry and otherwise!
Louise Woodhall - Veterinary surgeon BVETMED SCI BVM BVS MRCVS
I recently joined the Practice after moving from Birmingham to West Sussex. I wanted more of a family feel practice as I came from a large hospital. I have a keen interest in laboratory work and am currently studying for a certificate in medicine.
James Henderson - Veterinary surgeon MA(HONS) CANTAB VETMB MRCVS
I came to the practice in 2016 as a full time Veterinary surgeon. My family have always used the practice as we are local to the area. Outside of work, I love rugby and travelling.
Marie Mussett - Practice Manager
Hi, my name is Marie; I have been nursing for 17 years. I’ve always had a love for animals and have 4 cats, a dog and a bearded dragon at home. I have worked at Avenue Road Vets since 2010.
Alex Joyce - Student veterinary nurse
Started at Avenue Road in 2009 as a receptionist but always wanted to be a nurse. Now I am doing what I always dreamed of. I love exotics and wildlife and have several pets of my own.
Jackie Bourne - Student veterinary nurse
I am one of the student veterinary nurses at Avenue Road. I have a background of dancing and singing but my passion always lied with animals. I started working at Avenue Road Vets in 2015 and have loved every minute of it. I get a lot of job satisfaction and love the surgery aspect in particular.
Onome Oziwo - Student veterinary nurse
I started at Avenue Road Vets after a university placement, while I was studying Veterinary Nursing. I enjoyed the hands-on experience so much, I decided to continue my training through the practice as a full time nurse and train on the job instead of university. I feel this job is so rewarding and I love dogs in particular.
Poppy Downey - Veterinary care assistant
I work as a veterinary care assistant. I deal with the inpatients when they are with us for the day to make sure they have attention and all the creature comforts from home. I have a pet Gecko called Pepsi and love exotics.
Debra Thompson - Receptionist
Hi my name is Debra and I have been a receptionist for 9 years at Avenue Road. I have a dog named Dolly who I rescued and two cats that I rescued from a charity; their names are Binx and Tiger. I love meeting people and adore animals so this is the ideal job for me.
Emily Morris - Receptionist
I am a full-time receptionist here at Avenue. I love my varied job and seeing all the clients and their pets. Every day feels different. I have 2 cats so I have a soft spot for them.
