Weight Watchers We have recently started our own version of weight watchers. We feel that obesity is a very real concern in our animals. If left untreated obesity can lead to diabetes mellitus, heart problems and joint problems. The clinic's that we run offer help and advice to reduce your pets weight to give them a better quality of life. The club is run by Lesley and Kelly, both of which are qualified veterinary nurses completing nutritional courses. Kelly's cat Grace and Lesley's dog Kelly have both had problems with their weight so can empathise and understand the problems that you will face. The club is run from Mondays to Thursdays, please ring the surgery to make an appointment. The first appointment involves an examination of your pet's body score (how their weight compares to their ideal weight), advice will be given on exercise, diets and tips. This club is free of charge. Fresh Breath Club This is a new club that we at Avenue Road feel will improve your pets quality of life and make your, perhaps, that little bit less smelly! Dental problems in animals lead to bad breath which makes cuddle time with your animal very unappealing. This club is designed to help animals keep their teeth clean after dental procedures carried out at the practice under anaesthetic. The is an ideal time to start tooth care as all plaque and tartar will have been removed. This is the way that we want the teeth to stay. At the club we will show you how to brush your pets teeth. We have other methods if this is not a viable option. Diet can also help keep teeth bright and shiny. Appointments are Monday to Thursday with Lesley, Kelly or Vickie, please ring the surgery to make an appointment. |
